Dr. Ahmad Ainuddin Nuruddin, is currently the Deputy Director of the Institute of Tropical Forestry and Forest Products (INTROP), Universiti Putra Malaysia and also a Professor in Forest Microclimatology and Forest Fire Management at the Faculty of Forestry, Universiti Putra Malaysia. He obtained Bachelor and Master of Science from Ohio University, Ohio, USA and Doctorate in Forestry from the Stephen F. Austin State University, Texas, USA. His main research interest is forest fire, carbon and forest microclimatology. Currently he is active in forest fire, carbon and urban forestry research.. He has also involved in several consultancy projects such as tree carbon assessment, tree risk assessment and development of landscape masterplan. He is currently the President of Malaysian Society for Arborist (PArM) and member of Institute Forester Malaysia (IRIM), International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) and International Society for Agriculture Meteorology (INSAM). He is Co coordinator for Regional South East Asia Wildland Fire Network, deputy coordinator for 8.01.10 – Forest fires IUFRO research unit.
